Once again the holy mother roman catholic church is not only sticking its head(s) in where it has no right being, but also is attempting to create an ultimatum situation, i.e., it says that if it is forced to acknowledge marriage-equality (marriage for same-sex couples), which is what is being considered for the District of Columbia, then it must - will have no other choice but to - discontinue all social services therein, re: adoption, homelessness, health care, inter alia. Never mind that the ingrates take our secular funds, but want not only to run things their way, but also to spread their values overall. To hell with them, I say, and let the secular social services be run by others.
