In an extraordinary bid to lure traditionalist Anglicans en masse, the Vatican on Tuesday announced it would make it easier for Anglicans uncomfortable with their church’s acceptance of female priests and openly gay bishops to join the Roman Catholic Church while retaining many of their traditions. How arrogant!
The ramifications of this 'union' of Anglican and Roman Catholic bodies is better left to the theologians and the individuals who are bound up in the process. I dare say that it will be an interesting situation were a gay priest, bishop or archbishop to apply for conversion, with or without a family as a foil, or as mentioned in the article a female priest. Stay tuned. Only time will tell.
